Contact Me

I am the founder and executive director of Pretty Purposed, a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring communities to empower young women and girls through mentorship and enrichment programming. As a former 5th and 6th grade educator, my teaching career has fostered a love of healing centered practices, coupled with social emotional learning and youth-centered project based experiences, specifically in the areas of science and history. I left my full time teaching job  in June of 2022 to focus on my nonprofit, consulting, and philanthropy career. Through Bianca Myrick Consulting, I support individuals, organizations, and businesses, specifically in the areas of youth and organizational development. I am a 2010 graduate of Virginia State University, where I am now an adjunct professor in the Department of Teaching and Learning, teaching other students about the nonprofit sector, human service work, and philanthropy. I also have a masters degree in public administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.

In addition to being a grassroots nonprofit leader, I'm laser focused on disrupting traditional philanthropy structures. I am a co-founder and Vice-President of Collective 365, where we provide grants and capacity building in the DMV area to organizations, nonprofits, individuals, and grassroots movements that may not traditionally have access to funding through an inclusive process. I love how Collective centers black and brown people in the grant making by having community members review and vote on the grants. It is also the first giving circle I know of that allows you to become a voting member for $50, ensuring that every person feels that their contribution is valued. Since our launch on June 19, 2020, we have provided $35k in funding through our grantmaking.

Being in two part-time executive director roles is a little wonky right now, but I enjoy what I do. I am also a mom to an eleven year old, who loves being outdoors, so that keeps me pretty busy!
